The video above is divided in four parts: (1) Introduction (0:00-3:10); (2) Fishing the Unnamed Lake (3:11-7:38); (3) Fishing the Pennsauken Creek (7:39-9:41); and (4) Fishing the Falls Township Lake (9:42-15:48). Don't forget to watch it in HD quality (1080p50)! If you enjoy watching my videos, please support my YouTube Channel by liking and subscribing. :)

Goal:

The goal for the day was to explore this unnamed Lake in Cinnaminson, situated right next to the Pennsauken Creek. There were rumors of Northern Snakeheads (Channa argus) in it.

Setup:

My setup for this fishing session consisted of a Cortland Endurance 9' noodle rod with a Shimano Symetre 4000FL and 12lbs Berkley Vanish Fluorocarbon line. Throughout the course of the day, I used the following types of rigs/baits/lures: (1) a Thomas E.P. series in-line spinner, 1/8 oz., nickel/gold color; (2) a 5" Gary Yamamoto Senko on a 5/0 Gamakatsu Worm hook; (3) a 1" Gulp! Alive minnow on a 1/64 oz. Trout Magnet jighead, under a weighted float; (4) a size #10 Eagle claw hook with a Trout Magnet and sometimes a nightcrawler; and (5) a Spro frog.

Summary:

I started the day with my brother-in-law at this unnamed Lake in Cinnaminson, NJ. The rumor around the internet was that Northern Snakehead invaded it!

Upon arrival, we immediately started to explore the place. Both my brother-in-law and I were using top water frogs. We saw a couple Common Carp (Cyprinus carpio) cruising the shallows and a couple sunnies swimming in open patches of water. Overall, the whole place offered a lot of cover and structure, including spadderdocks, top water algae, etc.

After casting and exploring the place for an hour or so, we finally found our "golden spot:" a bridge that connected the Pennsauken Creek to this unnamed Lake! I changed gears to different lures (as seen in the video), ending up with a Largemouth Bass, a couple Bluegill, and a White Perch. I saw plenty of Northern Snakehead jumping around; however, none of them were willing to bite. Quite frustrating!

Around 11:00 a.m. it started to rain. Thus, my brother-in-law and I decided to leave the place. Before leaving, I took fifteen minutes or so to give a couple casts in the Pennsauken Creek, finishing there with a Redbreast Sunfish.

I was ready to call it a day for fishing when my friend Peter S. invited me to fish at night! Since my father was pretty psyched with the idea, I accepted the invitation for some fishing around the Falls Township area.

We started our session at the Falls Township Lake around 5:00 p.m.. Folks, the place was packed! Apparently, the whole population of Falls Township decided to spend their 4th of July there. Hah. There were plenty of folks fishing the inlet at the southern portion of the Lake, not to mention a few boats out there. One boat actually brought in a Walleye (Sander vitreus) on a string, which gave us some hope!

I guess the amount of "hope" wasn't enough. Heh. After all, we finished pretty poorly over there. I finished my night with a couple extra Sunfish, including a Green Sunfish. Caught a couple extra Largemouth Bass on the Thomas in-line spinner, and that was it. My father didn't finish with anything extraordinaire and Peter...well, let's not talk about Peter. Haha. He did pretty bad.

Overall, not too good on the fishing; however, a good day of exploration!

Below are the photos for this fishing session:

A small Largemouth Bass from the Pennsauken Creek, NJ.

A White Perch from the unnamed Lake in Cinnaminson, NJ.

A nice view of the unnamed Lake. Plenty of cover for Bass and Snakehead fishing!

The mysterious "discharge tube" that connects the Pennsauken with the unnamed Lake. It works like a type of gauge system: when the tide is high, water flows in to the Unnamed Lake. When the tide is low, water flows out. Pretty neat, right?

"Things that you don't see when you stay at home:" A mollusk of some kind. :)

My first ever Redbreast Sunfish from the Pennsauken Creek. :)

"Things that you don't see when you stay at home:" Some type of laced fawn swimming peacefully on the Pennsauken Creek.

A Bluegill from Falls Township Lake, PA.

A Green Sunfish with spawning colors! Pretty, ain't it?

Best of luck to all of us,

Long Days and Pleasant Nights,

Sincerely,

Leo S.
